Key Words: Timber Building, Timber Structures, Tensile Strength, FRP, Yellow Pine Timber Timber structures have been used since many years ago in the different regions. In order to obtain both durability and originality of the timber structures it is necessary to strengthen them especially in the connecting places. The main purposes of the strengthing in the connecting places are to decrease the tension stress, to eliminate fiber transitoriness and to remove shear surfaces. In recently, it has been increased the strengthing for timber buildings like reinforced concrete buildings by using Fiber Reinforced Polymer (FRP). Because FRP has high strength, light weight corrosion resistance and is also very easy to apply to the structures. In this study it has been aimed to gain the fiber continuity of timber constrictions systems. In this reason, it has been investigated mechanical performances of the connecting places built both with wooden nail and without wooden-nail. Experiments have been done in the laboratory to investigate the mechanical performance of the connecting places. The specimen used for experiments have been chosen from yellow pine timber, which is very abundant in the building sector. In order to investigate performances of the specimen used in the experiments, some pre-experiments have been done before the main experiments. 5 specimens in 10 different types have been prepared and tested subjected tensile strength. Epoxy Teknobont 200 has been used for preparing the specimen. The out comes demonstrate that the tensile strength of the specimen, which was connected with wooden nail, has higher than stickle specimen and this ratio is about 200 %. In addition the tensile strength ratio have reached 70 % of the to pre-experiment specimen tensile strength.
