Abstract (EN)

Vaccine indecision - vaccine rejection concepts, which were put forward 20 years ago in the world, have led to decreases in the increasing number of vaccinations. Vaccination in Turkey decreased from 98% in 2016 to 96% in 2017. Number of families who do not want their children to be vaccinated; It increased to 183, 980 in 2013, 5 thousand 400 in 2015, 12 thousand in 2016, and reached 23 thousand in 2018. Study; The determination of the reasons that lead parents to vaccine indecision - vaccine rejection was carried out to determine the effect of family values on anti-vaccination. A face-to-face interview was conducted with 930 parents who had children aged 0-24 months and knew Turkish, among 8433 people who applied to Gaziantep Cengiz Gökçek Obstetrics and Gynecology Polyclinics between January and February 2020. The data were collected with the Personal Information Form and the Family Values Scale, and the SPSS 25.0 package program was used in the evaluation of the data. The x² test was used to compare the independent variables. Hometown of 78% of the participants is Gaziantep, 68% of them have income equal to expenses. 74,7% of the participating mothers are housewives. 87,4% of the participants have a vaccination card, 12,6% without a vaccination card. While 90,1% of the participants said that the vaccine is necessary, 61,8% said that vaccines provide resistance against microbes, and 9,9% said that the vaccine is unnecessary. 89,9% of the participants stated that they had their children vaccinated, 10,1% stated that they did not. 91,9% of the participants said that vaccines had side effects, 8,1% said they did not. Reasons for not vaccinated; 5,7% of vaccinated diseases are no longer visible, 5,2% of health institutions are far from my home, 4,4% I believe in natural immunity, 4,1% babies are too small for vaccination, 4,1% I don't have time to get the vaccine. 3,2% said vaccines are not safe, 2,6% said religious beliefs, 1,7% said vaccines cause autism, 1% said vaccines are made to enrich vaccine companies. 0,5% of the participants said they are afraid of my child being infertile. Parents; vaccinations should be informed about the risks and harms if they are not vaccinated; In-depth research should be conducted on vaccine rejection.
