Abstract (EN)
Stainless Steels are used in almost every field of industry due to their superior properties. The main features they excel at are corrosion resistance, ease of manufacture and hygienic. Although mostly austenitic stainless steels are used in the industry, there are many areas where ferritic stainless steels are preferred and used. Stainless steels are combined using different welding methods. Depending on the field of use of stainless steels in industry, it is not very preferable to have weld junction lines appear. For this reason, these obvious joining lines are eliminated by applying surface polishing to stainless steels after welding. Since the surface polishing process applied after the welding process creates an extra cost burden, this process can either be completely eliminated or reduced in the industry. studies are being conducted to reduce it to a value. In this study, the effects of different welding methods used in the joining of AISI 430 ferritic stainless steels on surface polishing were investigated. In this study, 0.9 mm ferric stainless steel sheet was combined with three different welding methods and subjected to surface polishing. The experimental studies were subjected to corrosion and surface roughness tests and their results were evaluated. As a result of the experimental studies, it was found that the welding ability of AISI 430 ferritic stainless steels is very high. Depending on the experimental studies conducted to eliminate the line that will form after the welded joint, it has been determined that the most suitable joining methods are laser and plasma welding. However, considering the area of use of the material to be used, it has become clear that it is necessary to set the appropriate machine, appropriate cap and appropriate current group in order to meet the surface quality expectation. This dissertation consists of a total of ten chapters. In the first part, an introduction is given, in the second part, information about stainless steels is given, and in the third part, incoming information about welding is given. In the fourth, fifth and sixth chapters, information about welding methods, surface polishing in the seventh chapter, experimental studies in the eighth chapter, findings and discussion were shared in the ninth chapter. The tenth section contains the results and evaluations.
