A survey on the usage of elecronic commerce by academicians for professional and daily life:Akdeniz University sample

In this thesis The Usage Of Electronıc Commerce By Academicians For Professional And Daily Life is Surveyed: Akdeniz Unıversity Sample handled. The aim of this thesis is to research the ratio of usage of electronic commerce at universities which takes on one of the most important duty of information society. Evaluations include computer and internet usage of academicians and their usage aims. Usage differences of electronic commerce according to faculty, age, sex and job titles are tried to reveal. Surveyed on whether they shop on internet, which type of products are purchased, if they don?t shop, its causes are also searched. Also internet banking usage level is surveyed. Datas are collected by interviewing or by mail. Surveys are given to 300 academicians but 250 of them could be taken back. For evaluations of surveys SPSS 13.00 statistical programme is used. According to evaluation results most of the academicians use the computer more than 3-4 hours and use the internet more than 90 minutes in a day. The number of academicians who pays bills and depts on internet are more than who doesn?t. The academicians who shops on internet mostly purchase service (travel, electronic banking, real estate, insurance etc.) and book and CD.
