Abstract (EN)

The main objective of this study was to determine the natural background radioactivity levels in the environment in Mediterranean Region and also to measure the radioactivity emissions from various radionuclides through the determination of radionuclide activity. For the analysis of water samples, Packart-Tri Carb 2900 TR Liquid Scintillation Counter (LSC) was used. The tritium activity in tab water samples from different places in various suburbs in Mersin and also in some locations between Gülnar-Akkuyu were investigated. We compared the obtained results of the analysis with the regulatory limits of the World Health Organization, International Atomic Energy Agency and the Turkish Republic Ministry of Health.
