Akromegali tanili hastalarda yumuşak doku değişikliklerinin sonoelastografi ile değerlendirilmesi

38 acromegaly patients (24 female, 14 male; average age 50,63±9,7), 34 diabetes mellitus patients (22 female, 12 male; average age:53,24±9,9), and 26 healthy people (12 male, 14 male; average age: 49,27±9) were included in the study. The radiological parameters and the demographic data such as body mass index, operation history, smoke history of the patients were noted. In the people who gave informed consent, bilateral anteroposterior diameters of the median nerve, achilles tendon and gastrocnemius muscle were measured using Simens ACS3000 Virtual Touch Tissue Imaging Quantification (VTIQ) USG machine (Simens Medical Solutions, Mountain Wiev, CA, USA) and 9 MHz lineer transduser. The elasticity of these tissues was noted using VTIQ method. According to the results, the AP diameters of the median nerve and achilles tendon in acromegaly patients were significantly higher than those in the DM patients and healthy people. Although the AP diameters of the gastrocnemius muscle in acromegaly patients were higher than those in the DM patients and healthy people, there was no significant correlation. The SWV results of the median nerve and gastrocnemius muscles in acromegaly patients were significantly higher than those in the DM patients and healthy people. The SWV results of the achilles tendon in acromegaly patients were significantly higher than those in healthy people. Although the SWV results of the achilles tendon in acromegaly patients were higher than those in DM patients, there was no significant correlation. With the sonoelastography, soft tissue pathologies such as tendon, nerve, muscle pathologies can be evaluated in the early period of the pathology and it is an easy, safe, and cheap examination method without radiation exposure. In the acromegaly patients, in which muscle pathologies were often determined, detailed evaluation using elastography in the early period can prevent permanent function limitation and disability.
