Abstract (EN)

This research was executed in order to examine the effects of active learning method in Information Technologies Lesson on students? achievement and learning strategy levels in comparison with normal teaching method.The research was carried out by 46 students from 5th class of primary school participants randomly selected using control group pre-test and post-test experimental research method. The subjects of Hardware Units and Keyboard Keys were taught using active learning techniques, on the other hand in control group normal method was used.Research data was collected by means of Information Technologies Lesson Achievement Test, Computer Attitude Scale, Learning Strategies Scale. In data analysis, arithmetic mean, standard deviation, ANOVA (repeated measures), Mann Whitney U test and Covariance Analysis were used.At the end of the research, it was ascertained that active learning method was more effective on students? Information Technologies Lesson achievement, computer attitude and learning strategies when compared to normal teaching method. Moreover, the fact that active learning method was more effective on increasing female students? Information Technologies Lesson achievement rather than male students? was observed.
