Abstract (EN)

As the interest in sports around the world increases day by day, the interest in tennis also increases at the same rate. In addition to this interest in tennis, it is necessary to consider the physical and psychological characters of the players in order to evaluate the performances of the players in the strong competition between the opponents in the game. Therefore, in addition to physical competition between players, psychological competition is also at a high level; For this reason, determining the psychological awareness and psychological vulnerability levels of individuals playing tennis and the relationship between these data are of great importance for the tennis game. So much so that it is anticipated that the data obtained and the subsequent positive studies will have an impact on the players. The study group consists of 408 individuals aged 18-60 who play tennis throughout Türkiye. The tools used to collect research data were Personal Information Form, Cardaciotto et al. (2008) and the Psychological Fragility Scale developed by Sinclair and Wallston (1999). IBM SPSS Statistics 22 Program was used to analyze the data collected through the scale study. Correlation analysis was applied to examine the relationship between scale scores and the results were interpreted. According to the findings, individuals who play tennis appear to have a medium level of psychological vulnerability. This result shows that individuals who play tennis are prone to psychological fragility. When the psychological fragility levels of the individuals participating in the research are analyzed according to gender, sports year variable and interest in different branches, there is no statistically significant difference. When analyzed according to age and marital status variables, there is a statistically significant difference. It appears that individuals who play tennis have a moderate level of psychological awareness. This result shows that the psychological awareness of individuals playing tennis is at a medium level. When the psychological awareness levels of the individuals participating in the research are analyzed according to different variables, it is seen that there is no statistically significant difference. There is a significant but weak and negative relationship between the psychological awareness acceptance sub-dimension and the psychological fragility scale total scores. There is a significant but weak and positive linear relationship between the psychological awareness awareness sub-dimension and the psychological vulnerability scale total scores. Key Words: Tennis, psychological crisis, psychological fragility, scale, individuals playing tennis
