Abstract (EN)
People with chronic kidney disease (CKD) are at higher mortality risk compared with the general population. The aim of this study is to determine the direction of the relationship between Amyloid A protein and chronic kidney disease. The study also examined other parameters that show abnormalities in chronic kidney disease. In chronic kidney disease, we discovered a correlation between parameters like creatinine, urea, serum potassium, serum sodium, and C-reactive protein with Amyloid A protein. From January to August 2024, 75 patients at Medical City Hospital and Al-Yarmouk Hospital reported having chronic renal failure. Private laboratories in Iraq conducted the experimental work. The target population is chronic renal failure patients from both genders (including 48 males and 27 females) between the ages of <20 and 71 years old attending Medical City Hospital and Al-Yarmouk Hospital, Iraq. We subjected each patient with end-stage renal disease to 4 hours of hemodialysis in two or three sessions per week. The study also included 75 healthy people who did not suffer from any health problems as a control group. The results of the current study demonstrated that the highest age group with renal failure was ≤71 years, where it was 33.3%, while the lowest age group of patients with renal failure was <20-30. urea levels in males (95.83± 14.65), patients showed significant (P≥0.05) increase compared with control group (19.35± 2.16), while S. urea levels in females (104.52± 9.05) showed significant (P≥0.05) increase compared with control group. Creatinine levels in males (6.14± 0.67), patients showed significant (P≥0.05) increase compared with control group (0.89± 0.16), while creatinine levels in females (5.87± 0.51) showed significant (P≥0.05) increase compared with control group. RBC count, hemoglobin, and PCV in males showed a significant (P≤0.05) decrease compared with the control group. Also, RBC count, hemoglobin, and PCV in females showed a significant (P≤0.05) decrease compared with the control group. Sodium levels in males (138.5±2.82) showed significant (P≤0.05) differences compared with control group (155.13±2.05). Also, sodium levels in females (136.1±1.77) showed significant (P≤0.05) differences compared with the control group. Potassium level in males (8.81±0.22) was significantly (P≥0.05) elevated compared with the control group (3.95±0.14). Also, Potassium the level in females (8.42±0.35) was significantly (P≥0.05) elevated compared with the control group. The CRP level in males (9.13±1.41) was significantly (P≥0.05) elevated compared with the control group (0.89±0.21). Also, the CRP level in females (10.83±1.85) was significantly (P≥0.05) elevated compared with the control group. The male's Cystatin C level (18.04±1.21) was significantly (P≥0.05) higher than the control group (8.72±0.56). Also, the cytostatin C level in females (17.31±1.42) was significantly (P≥0.05) elevated compared with the control group. Amyloid A level in males (5.18±0.72) was significantly higher (P≥0.05) than in the control group (1.52±0.09). Also, females' Amyloid A level (5.01±0.51) was significantly (P≥0.05) higher than the control group.
