Tahkîki and analysis of the Surah al-Kahf of Alâeddin Ali B. Yahyâ al-Samarqandî's tafsir named Bahr al-Ulûm

In our study, Alaeddin Ali b. Yahyâ as-Samarkandî's commentary named Bahrü'l-ulûm was analyzed and examined in Surah al-Kahf. The aim of our research; to reveal the belonging of the work named Bahrü'l-ulûm, which is compared to three different names in the sources and cannot be recognized sufficiently due to the confusion about the author's ratio, to Alaeddin es-Samarkandî with evidence and to lead the academic investigation studies to be carried out on the work by examining the aforementioned part of this commentary of Alaeddin es-Samarkandî, which has not been the subject of academic analysis studies before. This thesis; It consists of a total of four chapters, including the introduction, two chapters in which the commentator and his works are described, and a chapter in which the analysis of Surah al-Kahf is discussed. Explanations deemed necessary are given in the headings and footnotes. The copies of the manuscript work in the libraries were identified and three copies containing the Surah al-Kahf were discussed. The manuscript was translated into today's Arabic and this analysis was carried out by comparing the copies. In the investigation and examination work; that the work is handled with a classical method of tafsir, that the commentator is one of the pioneers of commentary and hashiyah studies, that while he touches on philosophy and Sufi issues superficially, he makes broader explanations on hadith narration, fiqh and kalam issues, that the widest explanations are on linguistics and recitation such as sarf, nahiv, and eloquence, that he reflects the views of Abu Hanifa, Abu Yusuf and Serahsî on fiqh issues, that is, he follows the Hanafi school, In matters of faith, it has been concluded that he adopted the Maturidi view.
