Abstract (EN)

In this study, glazed ceramics unearthed during archaeological excavations in Alanya Castle between 1985 and 2021 were examined. Dating of ceramics 176 ceramic samples were examined in the catalog within a historical framework starting from the Middle Byzantine period and extending to the Late Ottoman period. These ceramics, preserved in the Alanya Castle Excavation Directorate Depot, were separated according to their decoration techniques, listed according to their forms, and examined under the headings of dough, dough texture, form, decoration and composition. A typological evaluation was made under the headings of form and decoration in the historical context of the ceramics unearthed during archaeological excavations in Alanya Castle, and as a result, the commercial relations of the city, the existence of the states that reigned in the city, and their connections with the ceramics seen in other cities were determined.
