Abstract (EN)
The natural and artificial radioactivity levels of 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K were measured utilising the HPGe gamma spectrometer system of the beach sands of Alanya city center. The mean values of 226Ra, 232Th, and 40K radioactivity levels in beach sand samples were calculated as 17.06 ± 1.68, 25.04 ± 2.88, 276.88 ± 17.24 Bq/kg, respectively. Results show that it was below the radiation limit values and no risk could be detected in terms of public health. Additionally, computed radiological risk parameters; radium equivalent activity (Raeq), absorbed gamma dose rate (D), annual effective dose equivalent (Eaed), external (Hex) and internal (Hin) hazard index, gamma level index (Iy) and lifetime cancer risk (ELCR) calculated all parameters were below the internationally accepted radiation limit values and did not pose a danger to public health, and distribution maps reflecting the radiological situation of the region were created. As a result of XRF analysis on beach sands, geochemical analyzes were performed and major and trace-element concentrations were determined. Heavy metal elements such as Al, Fe, Mg Ti, Co, Zn, Ga, R, Y, Ba, Pb, Pa, and Tb were found to be slightly lower in Alanya (A1 – A25) samples compared to Alanya Castle (K26 – K50) samples.
