Common problems and solution suggestions in flame working technique

Glass is a solid material, it becomes soft by the touching of fire, thereby it provides a miraculous functionality. Flameworking and hot glass processing are one of the most common studies in the glass-forming field. The studies that are made in our country are evaluated as beads, trinkets, decorative items, and glassware. Depending on the design big and small works can be done with these techniques. It is possible to encounter problems when the design is planned and the process is started. These problems are caused by the texture of glass, glassworking torch and lack of knowledge. Thermal expansion coefficient, compatibility, and annealing temperature are primary elements in studies that are made with a thermal expansion coefficient. There are some essential points in designs which are made while flameworking the glass in order to prevent certain mistakes. In this study, the definition of flameworking technique and its history are explained briefly. The ways that are used in the technique, the common problems that might be encountered during the implementation, and solutions for these problems are investigated.
