Alternative tourism types and sample of Kızılcahamam thermal tourism

The purpose of this research is to examine the alternative tourism types and relatedto this, to compare the expectations on ?hygiene?, ?price? and ?service quality?dimensions of employees, working in thermal tourism establishments operating inKızılcahamam, and customers who prefer these establishments. In addition, within thisresearch taking into account customers? demographical characteristics and employees?duties and their establishments? characteristics, it has been examined if their approachesto dimensions of ?hygiene?, ?price? and ?service quality? differ from each others.In this research, questionnaire method is used as the technique to collect the data.Two separate questionnaire forms are designed to apply to customers and employees.115 questionnaires were distributed to the employees, working as upper level, middlelevel and team member in thermal tourism establishments participating in research. Ofreturned questionnaires, 96 (%83,4) were taken into analysis. Also, totally 150questionnaires were dispensed to customers who prefer these establishments, and ofreturned questionnaires, 122 (%81,3) were taken into analysis. Collected data wasanalyzed by frequencies, independent samples t-test and one-way Anova through SPSS10.00 for Windows Programme.As a result of this research, it was established that employees, working in thermaltourism establishments in Kızılcahamam have generally more positive point of view on?hygiene?, ?price? and ?service quality? dimensions than customers who prefer theseestablishments. Also, when differences within groups are examined, it was determinedthat there is significant differences on customers? ?price? dimension and employees??hygiene? and ?service quality? dimensions.Key Words: Alternative Tourism, Thermal Tourism, Expectation, Kızılcahamam.
