Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between self-esteem and organizational justice perceptions of amateur football players. The population of the study consists of amateur football players struggling in Amateur Leagues of Turkey Football Federation. The sample of the study is consisted of 537 voluntary amateur football players randomly selected from 33 teams in the Regional Amateur, Super Amateur, 1. Amateur, and 2. Amateur Leagues in the provinces of Burdur, İstanbul, Trabzon and Rize in the period of 2017-2018. In the study, the "Demographic Information Form" prepared by the researcher, "Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory" developed by Stanley Coopersmith in 1967 and adapted to Turkish by Turan and Tufan (1987) and "Organizational Justice Perception Scale" developed by Niehoff and Moorman (1993) and adapted to Turkish by Yıldırım (2002) were applied. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by using IBM SPSS 22.0 Licensed Package Program. Descriptive statistics (Frequency, Percentage, Average and Standard Deviation), Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient Analysis technique, one-way and multivariate variance analysis (f test) (ANOVA - MANOVA) were used. Also, Tukey Multiple differences. Comparison (HSD) test was employed to determine the source of the. According to the findings of the research, there are significant differences in total scores of self-esteem in terms of age of football players and the average self-esteem of football players aged 25 years and older is significantly higher than that of football players in the 21-24 age range. Significant differences were found between the variable of marital status and self-esteem total scores of football players. Accordingly, the mean self-esteem scores of married footballers are significantly higher than those of single football players. Significant differences were determined between football players' duration of playing football and self-esteem total scores. Accordingly, the mean self-esteem scores of football players who have played football for 9 years and over were found to be significantly higher than those of footballers in the 7-8 year range. Significant differences were found between the league levels of football players and their total self-esteem scores. Accordingly, average self-esteem scores of the footballers who play in the Regional Amateur Leagues were found to be significantly higher than those of the footballers who play in the Super Amateur and 1.Amateur leagues. However, it was seen that there is no significant difference between the variables of place of birth, educational status and status as a football player and self-esteem total scores. According to the results of MANOVA test conducted on the scale of organizational justice, although there are significant differences in the total of organizational justice scale in terms of the variable of age, there is no significant difference in the sub-dimensions of the scale. According to these findings, it is seen that the variable of age does not significantly predict the sub-dimensions of the organizational justice scale. It was determined that there is a significant difference in the sub-dimensions of the organizational justice scale according to the league levels of football players. With this finding, it was found that the scores to be obtained from the linear component composed of the sub-dimension scores differ depending on the leagues in which they play football. According to the mean and standard deviation values of the three factors of the scale and the results of the one-way analysis of variance on the sub-dimension according to the variable of league, it was seen that there is a significant difference in the sub-dimension of procedure justice. In the Tukey test, it was determined that the scores which the football players who play in the 1. Amateur League obtained from the sub-dimension of procedure justice are significantly higher than those of the football players who play in the super amateur league. It was also concluded that there is no significant difference in the organizational justice scale and the sub-dimensions in terms of the location of the birth place, educational status, marital status, duration of football playing and football position. According to the Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient analysis, a low level significant correlation was found between the self-esteem and the variables of age and football playing duration, however, no significant relationship was found between the subscales of the organizational justice scale in terms of age and football playing duration. In addition, it was determined that there is a significant correlation between self-esteem mean scores and organizational justice perception scale and sub-dimensions. In other words, as the self-esteem average scores of the participants increase, there is a positive increase in the levels of perception of organizational justice. Accordingly, it is seen that as football players' self-esteem mean scores increase, there is a low level positive increase in the sub-dimension of distribution justice and there are moderate and positive increases in the sub-dimensions of procedural justice and interaction justice.
