Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, it was tried to determine the effects of a certain dose and time ofantibiotics on fatty acids, vitamins and cholesterol values within heart and livertissues of male rats . Wistar albino male rats were used. The team consisted of twogroups; the control group (n=6, serum physiologic) and the applying group (n=6,ampicillin, 25 mg/kg/day). After the applications, rompun (25 mg/kg) and ksilazin(75 mg/kg) was given to animals intramuscularly by means of anesthesia, then bytaking blood from the heart their viability was terminated. For the determination offatty acid types and their values necessary extraction procedures were made andanalyzed in the GC equipment. At the same time, vitamin and cholesterol types wereanalyzed by HPLC equipment too. In the liver, myristic (14:0) fatty acid from theampicillin group had a less value than the control group (p<0.05). Futhermore, theamount of cholesterol, K1 and b-sitosterol, in the liver tissue increased in theampicillin group compared with the control group (p<0.05). However, vitamin K2 inthe ampicillin group was less then the control group (p<0.05). Heart tissuemonounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA) decreased in the ampicillin group (p<0.05) andpolyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) showed an increase in the ampicillin group(p<0.05). It was also shown that myristic (14:0) fatty acid decreased in the ampicillingroup compared with the control group (p<0.05). Cholesterol decreased in theampicillin group compared with the control group (p<0.05). As a result of this study,it was observed that ampicillin which is widely used in antibiotics; affects MUFA,PUFA, cholesterol and vitamin values in the tissues of rat?s heart and liver.
