Life satisfaction from the perspective of mainstream economics: A study on the employees of the aviation sector in Antalya

"Well-being", for the mainstream economics, has been established in an objective discourse by associating the term more with economic parameters. It has been greatly acknowledged that the individuals' and thus the society's life satisfaction is parallel to the increase in their well-being. Nevertheless, recent studies conducted especially in the field of Behavioral Economics suggest that besides the aforementioned economic parameters, there are also other independent variables which affect the individuals' life satisfaction. In this study, employee satisfaction analysis of Antalya Aviation Industry has been reviewed in the light of the above information. In the questionnaire conducted, the question "How satisfied are you with your life when you consider it as a whole?" was asked, and based on their answers, their level of life satisfaction was examined according to certain parameters and thus statistical facts were obtained.
