ABSTRACTD FFERENCES N THE SUCCESS BETWEEN BOARD NG AND NORMALDAYT ME PUP LS N THE MUS C CLASSES OF THE ANATOL ANH GH SCHOOL OF F NE ARTSAyça YIKILMAZOĞLUMaster?s Degree ThesisSupervisor: Prof. Selahattin GÖRSEVFebruary 2006, 102 pagesThis research is conducted to determine how successful the boarding andnormal daytime pupils of the last degree of the Anatolian High School of Fine Artsare in playing the piano.In order to keep the frame of the research broad the directors (4), pianoteachers (29) and piano students (63) of the last grade in the school year 2004 -2005 in the Anatolian High Schools of Fine Arts in Ankara, Bolu, Bursa andKırıkkale have constituted the instance of the research.For collecting the necessary information, first of all the literature rewiev ismade. Since this research aims to establish and evaluate the existing situation, asurvey form has been prepared and applied as tool for the research. With the surveyform, the opinions of the directors, piano teachers and piano students as well as theexisting situation have been evaluated and the results are shown and interpreted intables.As a result of this research there are some problems determined regarding theproductivity of the piano lessons as regards building, means and tools, teachers andteaching program. Concerning the subject of the research, the conclusion is reachedthat there is no difference in the piano success of the boarding and normal daytimepupils.Key words: music education, piano lessons, A.G.S.L.
