Used four transportation weavings of Anamur Bahşiş villages

Weaving, which is at the basis of the nomadic way of life, has emerged to meet the need of human beings to shelter and cover themselves. Weaving, which is practiced in almost every region of Anatolia, has been practiced in Anamur Bahşiş villages since the past and weaving samples used in daily life have been produced. However, weaving is not practiced in the region today, and women who know how to weave are unable to do so due to health problems and old age. Weaving samples made in the past are used. Sacks, sackcloth, saddlebags, saddlebags, bags and kolans are the types of weaving used for transportation. The raw material of the woven products that help to meet the needs of the local people and are made for transportation purposes is wool or hair. These materials are supplied by the local people themselves from the animals they feed. Local weavings are made in rugs, cicim, zili and sumac techniques and red, hennaed yellow, yellow, white, black, green and purple colors are used. Of the 38 examples of weaving for transportation purposes identified in the region, 18 belong to Karalarbahşiş village, 8 to Gercebahşiş village and 12 to Güneybahşiş village. The aim and importance of the study is to identify, record and document the color, motif and pattern characteristics of the original weaving samples for transportation purposes, the number of which is decreasing day by day. For this purpose, field research was conducted in the region and oral interviews were conducted with local people. The data obtained through field research are blended with literature reviews and explained under main and subheadings. This research aims to be a source for future studies in the field and to maintain the bond between generations of the art of weaving, which is our national cultural element.
