Abstract (EN)

The present study aimed to investigate the views of administrators, teachers and parents on counseling services in kindergartens. The study was conducted with administrators (n=20) and pre-school teachers (n=24) employed in public and private kindergartens in Rize province districts and parents (n=23) whose children attended the kindergartens during the 2019-2020 academic year in Turkey. The total number of participants was 67. The study was conducted with the qualitative research method. The study data were collected with a semi-structured interview form developed by the author. The study findings demonstrated that the participants perceived developmental counseling when counseling services were mentioned. It was determined that cognitive development of the students should be prioritized for the identification and development of their interests, skills and academic requirements, and further social development studies should be conducted to identify and improve their personal and social needs. Previous studies have been conducted with professionals/institutions to inform the students about the professions. It was determined that most in-house studies were conducted with teachers and administrators, while others aimed to inform the parents about the education and development of their children.
