Abstract (EN)
Ergonomics means convenience with its most common use. The concept of ergonomics is an indispensable part of architecture. Structures are designed by addressing a certain user group. Each building must comply with ergonomic criteria, taking into account the user groups. Kindergartens are structures that provide education for children of certain age groups. The subject of the study is that kindergarten buildings do not have designs in accordance with ergonomic criteria. The aim of the study is to determine the ergonomic criteria of the kindergartens built according to the criteria determined by the Ministry of National Education in Turkey, by taking into account the age groups of the users. The data pertaining to the user-furnishing elements and architectural design relationship determined within the scope of accessibility and usability in ergonomics can be used in the revision of existing applications and in the implementation of new projects. Within the scope of the study, firstly, a literature review was made for the conceptual infrastructure. In the studies, the anthropometric properties of the users, the dimensions of the furnishings and building elements in the spaces, the concepts of accessibility and usability in ergonomics were determined as ergonomic evaluation parameters. Two kindergartens with different plan schemes in Kilis province were determined as study areas. Within the scope of the field study, user groups were formed by grouping the students studying at schools according to their age ranges. While evaluating the spaces used by the determined user groups, the furniture in the spaces and the furnishing elements in the wet areas were measured. The measurements made were evaluated in the context of accessibility and usability in ergonomics by taking the average anthropometric data of the user groups as reference. In line with the user satisfaction research, observations were made in the field study, and a questionnaire study was applied to the students who are the users through their teachers. The survey application was made in line with the hypotheses determined within the scope of the study. The survey study was conducted on a 5-point likert scale, and the data obtained were analyzed and transferred to the thesis study. All the data obtained in the study were evaluated in the thesis study. Evaluations made; It has revealed how important it is for students studying in kindergarten buildings to be satisfied at the highest level in terms of accessibility and usability. In this context, the evaluations obtained within the scope of the study are presented in the form of results and recommendations in order to benefit the designers in new projects or in the arrangements to be made in existing buildings.
