Examination of school climates of kindergartens :Sorgun district example

This study aims to analyze the conceptual elements of school climate to develop an ideal school climate. School climate encompasses a broad range of factors, including both the physical environment and psychological safety, and denotes the reciprocal interaction between the school's physical structure and its psychological atmosphere. The study focuses on conducting a comprehensive examination of school climate in early childhood education institutions using qualitative analysis methods. The findings, based on interviews with teachers, reveal both democratic and autocratic dimensions of school climate. Participants emphasized components of a democratic school climate such as transparency, inclusiveness, and equality, and indicated that these features positively impact the educational processes. Teachers reported that their involvement in decision-making processes improved the school climate. Conversely, it was observed that an autocratic school climate, characterized by closed and administrator-focused decision-making processes, negatively affected teachers' job satisfaction. This study adopts an innovative approach to improving school climate and aims to conduct a thorough qualitative analysis of school climate. It highlights the need to move beyond traditional analytical approaches to examine not only the superficial aspects of school climate, such as physical environment and psychological safety, but also the interactions and dynamics between these elements.
