Examination of the relationship between preschool workers' job satisfaction, wage expectation, total term of employment, age groups and their burnout levels

This study's aim is to reveal the relationship between preschool workers' job satisfaction, wage expectation, total term of employment, age groups and their burnout levels. Besides, the effects of variables such as individuals' ages, marital status, income level, the institution they work, education level on job satisfaction and burnout levels are examined. 150 teachers and administrators who are working in private and public preschools and are living in Maltepe providence of Istanbul participated to the research. Also, according to identify socio-demographic characteristics of the participants, personal information form is made by researcher. When the socio-demographic characteristics analyzed, it is found out that private institution workers emotional burnout and personal success sense levels are higher than public institution workers, and public institution workers' desensitization levels are higher than private institution workers. Also, it is seen that while workers' age increase, their emotional burnout and burnout levels increase too, and while their proffessional seniority duration increase, their emotional burnout and burnout levels increase too. There was no meaningful results for socio-demographic features that take a part in the research, such as individuals' age, marriage duration, children number. In addition, it is seen that as individuals' job satisfaction levels increase, their emotional burnout, desensitization and burnout levels decrease and their personal success sense levels increase too. In the discussion section that is at the end of the research, suggestions for researchers, psychological counselors working on this field had been proposed on research findings.
