Formation and development analysis of rural settlements in Ankara Polatli region

The morphological analyzes carried out mostly on the urban scale since the first scientific studies show that not every urban fabric has the same characteristics, including the formation of settlements and their changes over time. The same is true for rural settlements, which are very different from urban settlements in terms of factors such as topographic scale, division of labor, and demographic structure. In this context, rural settlements, which are more irregular and organic formations compared to urban settlements, and rural settlements of the same region, the same city or even the same district, whether neighboring or long distances, differ in each rural texture. With the revision of the dynamics used in urban morphology analyzes for rural, the variations over time can be investigated and analyzed for rural settlements. In this context, even if the dynamics are specialized, the level of importance will be the same for the region under investigation. In this thesis, first of all, the concepts of rural and urban areas were explained and compared with each other. Secondly, the concepts of typology and morphology were examined separately for urban and rural areas, and their classifications were made by explaining their typology. Thirdly, the methods required to make tympomorphological stratification analysis in rural settlements are explained. These methods; For the selection of sample regions, AHP method was determined as a matrix showing the chronological development of settlements and the methods were detailed. In the fourth stage of the study, the analysis methods determined for the villages selected with AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method were examined separately in each dynamic title and the stratification results were obtained. The building features that are examined typologically for the sample villages are also added as building identity. In the last section, the change / transformation of both typology and morphology characteristics of all sample villages and comparative results are obtained. In this section, where the comparative results are analyzed with each other, the changes of the same district villages over time in the same analysis method are presented. All data created for the thesis; They were transformed into figures, graphics, sketches and tables with the help of computer programs.
