Anna Komnena and her historiography

Byzantine princess Anna Komnena, has got an important place among the Byzantium historians. She has a good education. Alexiad that is written by Byzantium princess Anna Komnena is the history of 1. Alexios Komnenos active reign between 1081-1118 years. Except the information about Alexious Komnenos Anna give an opinion also family members and the society that she growed up. The study explain historical events fluently as well as provide the readers visualization. Moreover, it's extremity subjective for allusions to her experiments; during the study her entity is perceived as a writer. Alexiad is an important source both as it's subject and as it's writer that is written by a woman reached the modern days as a historical material. Particularly it was emphasized on Alexiad while this thesis composing. The thesis which is called Anna Komnena and her historiography, branch three part, Anna and the era is the subject of the first chapter. İt's analyzed Anna's family, education life and her role in the fight for the throne in this chapter. Anna's work Alexiad analyzed in second chapter. Anna's historiography came up in third chapter. Another issue is the prejudice that frankly Anna exhibited. İn spite of the criticism at this point, Alexiad is very important source to understand era of Byzantium Empire, Byzantium-Turkish relations, East Mediterrenean policy and the crusades.
