Abstract (EN)
The study, which was conducted to examine the relationship between mothers' perception of fragile babies and readiness for hospital discharge, is descriptive and correlational. The sample of the study consisted of 303 mothers hospitalized in the postpartum ward. Study data were obtained with the Introductory Information Form, Hospital Discharge Readiness Scale and Vulnerable Baby Scale. There was no difference in terms of Discharge Readiness and Vulnerable Baby scores according to the mothers' delivery method (p>0.05). As mothers' age increases, their readiness for discharge increases (p<0.05). It was determined that the readiness for discharge of mothers with only one child was lower than that of mothers with more than one child (p<0.05), and their perception of vulnerable was higher (p<0.05). It was determined that as mothers' readiness for discharge increased, the perception of vulnerable babies decreased (p<0.000). It was observed that mothers' readiness for hospital discharge had a significant positive effect on their perception of vulnerability. In conclusion; Preparing mothers for discharge after birth reduces the perception of vulnerability. It may be recommended that midwives be given training to prepare mothers for discharge after birth.
