Abstract (EN)
In this study we are focusing on Marble, as one of the most potential export material of Turkey. Although marble stands out as an extreme important export commodity as well marble sector maintains its place and develops the existing potential in Turkey. In order to work more effectively, the marble producing companies should be properly covered the problematic areas due to structure that arise during the production of this natural stone. Veins structure of natural stone, gaps in natural stone, fractures and cracks can decreases the quality of production. Because it is possible to say that, there are price differences between natural stones that are subjected to treated with chemical processes and not treated with chemical procedure. It is necessary to prevent these losses and waste for obtaining more profit from exported natural stones. Chemical processes and technological preventing methods are applied to natural stones in order to secure. both waste and material losses In case of laying natural stones which have been sold without any chemical treatment, pores such as cavities, fractures and cracks on the natural stone are filled with dirt and similar bad appearance, which causes an ugly appearance and these paved natural stones are more difficult to clean. And the producers, those who don't want to face such situations, they may have to make a use of chemicals for surface protection. For repairing the problematic areas on natural stone, there are some repairing materials that are widely used for considering the parameters such as durability, expansion, price and quality in accordance with the type of natural stone. There are some of the examples of items for repairing the natural Stones are; epoxy, polyester, U.V ray, mastic cement filled etc. The study area is located to the north of Finike (Antalya) district. Within the scope of this study, technological experiments were carried out to determine the geological, mineralogical-petrographic and physico-mechanical properties of marbles in the Limyra region. By comparing the results with TS and TS EN, the physical and chemical interactions occurring in the structure and texture of Limyra marbles. As a result of these interactions of marbles with the external environments and the changes resulting from these interaction were investigated by these parameters such as abrasion conditions, impact strengths, compressive strengths, water absorption under atmospheric pressure, water absorption resistance in boiling water, end-frost pressure resistance, bending strength under heavy load, resistance to external factors, etc.
