Determination of rural tourism potential and development strategy for Antalya province Kaş district

Rural tourism is a tourism activity that covers all activities intertwined with the natural area in the rural area and meets the needs of tourists. Although there are different types of rural tourism, this form of tourism shows known tourism characteristics. The tourism potential of a region shows various characteristics such as historical and cultural aspects of the region. In addition, different types of tourism have been directed to examine various aspects in determining the rural tourism potential and to make the tourism potential. In order to determine the rural tourism potential, to research different aspects and to determine the tourism potential, different types of tourism were examined. This study forms the investigation area for researching the rural tourism potential and the development strategy in the Kaş district in the Antalya province. Kas is a tourist centre on the Mediterranean coast. The Kaş district has an area of 2231 km²; It is the fourth largest district of Antalya in terms of land. The Kaş district has a very strong potential for rural tourism applications in this area with its broad geographical location, natural and cultural resources and tourist supply potential. As part of the field research, interviews were carried out with people in the districts and villages, and as a result of the interviews, a SWOT analysis (SWOT) for rural tourism based on literature studies was produced. In considering these types of rural tourism in Antalya Kaş District and the field study, the emphasis was placed on defining a strategy for the potential of rural tourism. As a result, determining the place and importance of rural tourism in Kaş district in our country, rural tourism potential, attitudes of local people towards rural tourism, factors determined by SWOT (SWOT) analysis, and strategic suggestions for the future were made.
