Abstract (EN)
One of the most important renewable energy sources is wind energy. Installation costs are low and the energy to be obtained is high compared to other renewable energies. The wind can generate energy by direct blowing on the land as well as bringing the wind-induced waves to the water with its effect on the surface of the sea; In this context, energy production is also possible from the waves. Wind generated waves in this way would be suitable for short wave energy. In this thesis study, long term (01.01.1988-01.01.2018 or the date when the measuring station entered service on the measurement stations of Kaş, Demre, Finike, Kumluca, Kemer, Konyaaltı, Lara, Serik, Manavgat, Alanya, Gazipaşa) wind speed and direction, using the data obtained from the General Directorate of Meteorology of the Ministry of Forestry Republic of Turkey and Water Affairs, significant wave heights were determined by the Wilson method and the potentials of wave energy generated by the wind effect were calculated. For each region, the wind roses, the number of wind blows per direction, and the ratio of the wave energies that can be obtained in relation to the significant wave height, and the calculated wave energies for effective feces are presented. It has been observed that although the calculated wave energy outside the finike region is not very high, it is in a capacity to meet basic needs such as lighting and housing for areas where energy transmission is difficult, such as islands and roads without land transportation. Kas region appears to be a rantable investment thanks to its continuous wave climate and high energy potential, unlike other regions.
