Abstract (EN)
This study examines the dynamics of boutique wine production in the Thrace region of Turkey, with a focus on the factors that motivate producers, the experiences they encounter, and the challenges they face. The region has witnessed a revival in boutique wine production since the mid-2000s, driven primarily by urban professionals seeking to integrate boutique wine culture into the local landscape. The research is based on ethnographic fieldwork and in order to understand the dynamics today, a historical perspective is integrated into the study. The aim of the study is to explore how cultural and economic capital shape the identities, strategies and relationships of these producers in the context of wine production and aims to contribute to broader discussions on wine culture and the socio-economic dynamics of boutique wine production in Turkey.
