Evaluation of coaches' child protection practices in sports

This work; This study was conducted to examine the knowledge levels of coaches about child protection programs in terms of different variables. The research was conducted with the survey model. The study group of the research; It consists of Düzce Municipality Youth and Sports Services Directorate Coaches located in Düzce province, TÜFAD Coaches and a total of 72 coaches, 41 women and 31 men, who are registered on a voluntary basis and have a Coaching Certificate working in Düzce Ministry of Youth and Sports. "Child Protection Scale in Sports (CSC)" was used by Bayansalduz, Kepoğlu and Metin (2021) to measure the knowledge level of coaches regarding the protection of child athletes. After the data collection phase was completed, the data was studied with the SPSS program and the results were analyzed. Test of Homogeneity of Variances test was applied to the data obtained and since the data did not show a normal distribution, non-paramatric tests were used. Mann Whitney U tests were applied in groups of two, and Kruskal Wallis tests were applied in groups of three or more. The significance level was taken as 0.05. The significance level was taken as p<0.05. In conclusion; While there was no statistically significant difference in the variables of age, branch, coaching period, monthly income and Sports sciences graduate, there were statistical differences in the sub-dimensions of the scale according to gender, marital status, educational status and place of residence.
