Examination of Aram Hachaturyan violin concerto in terms of form and performance techniques

The aim of this study is to analyze the Violin Concerto of Aram Haçaturyan, one of the Armenian composers of the Soviet Union, of the Nationalist movement, which has an essential place in the violin literature and is considered one of the intersection points of Eastern and Western music, in terms of performance and interpretation. In this context, the literature on the subject was first searched, and the data obtained were subjected to descriptive analysis. There are very few sources in Turkish about the life and works of the composer, and English sources related to the subject were used. In order to interpret a work, it is necessary to have in-depth knowledge of the work and its composer. Before analyzing the work, research about both the composer and the history of the work was done, and the information obtained was presented. After that, data was compiled by doing a general search in the literature to shed light on the analysis of the work. Afterward, the composition process of the work was examined, formal and tonal analysis was made on the work, and these were given in tables. After that, the playing techniques used in the piece were examined, and examples were given from the places where they were used. Finally, in light of the data obtained, suggestions were made for the interpretation of the work.
