Abstract (EN)
In order to make semantic interpretation of a sentence, many types of meaning must be taken into account. The meanings of sentences are determined by context, but contexts are unlimited. Therefore, rules determining the meaning cannot be established from the context. However, if the meaning is limited by the linguistic context, rules concerning interpretation of the sentence can be set through syntactic, grammatical, lexical, phonological and morphological meaning types. Because in addition to the lexical meaning it has, the word also has meanings according to its grammatical function, sounds and its place in the sentence. It also has a meaning derived from the word's form (morph). This formal structure gives us clues to define the meaning of the word in the sentence. The meaning brought about by this formal structure is called morphological meaning. The basic elements of this type of meaning are morphemes. Arabic is a very complex language due to its morphological structure. Because, on the one hand, it is a flexional language, and on the other hand, it has a structure like an agglutinative language. Therefore, sometimes it also contains some structures that we find it difficult to place in usual definitions of morphology. This study discusses the issue of morphology and morphological meaning in Arabic language. The research consists of an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion. In the introduction, basic topics of the thesis such as subject, scope, purpose, importance and method are included. In the first part, definitions concerning with morphology and morpheme; the development of morphology in the linguistic history and in history of Arabic language; types of morphemes are discussed. In the second part, the main morphems in Arabic and types of meaning affecting the semantic interpretation of the sentence such as phonological, lexical, grammatical, syntactic and morphological meaning are examined in Arabic language. In the conclusion, the general framework of the study is presented by summarizing the discussions and findings in the research.
