Examination about children's literature in Arab world (Example in Syria)

Abstract (EN)

In this searching Arab children's literature was examined in Arab countries geographically named as damascus region, including Syria, Lebanon, Pelastine and Jordan. Children's literature in Syria has started in 1867 with stories of Kirlof which translated to Arabic language by Peot Rizkallah Hassan, continued with Abdul Rahman al-Sefercelânî's series "Silsilat al-Mahfuzât al-Arabiyyah". As we see, it continued until Mohammad Karanya's work which named "Zavahiru'l-Tecdeed fi Kasaidu'l-Etfâl". The literature studies in Jordan, developing a three-stage manner, has started by Ibrahim al-Bevrashi and continued with the litterateurs like Joseph al-Azm, Raudatu'l Hudhud and Ahmad al-Muslih. In Pelastine, the literature studies which started in 1928, were continued abroad because of regional and political issues. In Lebanon, the literature studies started in XIXth century before the others, itensified beginning of XXth century. In 1960 it took away toward translations. After in seventies years the publications have increased. Because of the occupation, revolution and exile situations in these countries, national resistance, enthusiastic emotions and struggle issues were mostly discussed in children's literature types.
