Culinary culture of Ardahan Region

Culinary culture is a subject that changes according to the diet of the society and differs from culture to culture. Nutrition, on the other hand, is an important requirement for people to maintain their vital functions, as it forms the basis of culinary culture. The change and forgetting of these requirements over time has led us to research and to write down the culinary culture. It has been a cultural duty to convey the adventure of all kinds of food and beverage that shape the culinary culture from the production stage to the consumption stage. The versatility of Turkish cuisine has made it difficult to reveal its richness. In this process, the effects of geography and climate come to the fore in the preparation of different flavors, the preservation of foods and the cooking of meals. The cuisine culture of the Ardahan region will be conveyed in the context of researching the reasons that shape the cuisine and the results. In the thesis, the kitchen utensils in the culinary culture of the Ardahan region, the use of locally grown foods and the ways of obtaining foods that are not grown due to climatic reasons are emphasized. It is a research that includes the dishes, drinks, desserts and spices made in the culinary culture that affects every aspect of life. Changes made in special menus for important days will be included. While Ardahan Region's culinary culture is natural, it will be mentioned that the livelihood is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, and how the culinary culture is shaped in this direction. How culinary culture took its place in folk literature products and through the poems written by the minstrels to keep our cultural value alive will be looked at from the eyes of the minstrels. Qualitative research method was used to reach the desired data throughout the research. In addition, the questions prepared by one-to-one interviews were directed to the source persons. Ardahan Region cuisine culture will be tried to be revealed with the data obtained from the source people.
