Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of arginine silicate inositol complex given by oral gavage on the level of osteointegration in titanium implants applied to the tibia of rats. ASİ complex forming arginine and silicon; biochemical, immunological, histopathological and radiological evaluation of the effects on the tissues based on the results of the studies that the bone mineral density, cartilage, connective and vascular tissues may increase the amount of collagen. Fifty-two 8-week-old female Sprague–Dawley rats were equally divided into 4 groups. No additional treatment was applied to the control group (n=7) subjects during the 3-month experimental setup. The ASI group (n = 7) was given to the subjects by oral gavage for 3 days a week, with ASI being 3.62 g / kg for 3 months. 4 mm long titanium implants with a diameter of 2.5 mm were placed in the metaphysical parts of the right tibial bones of the subjects under the control-implant group (n = 10) general anesthesia and no additional treatment was given until the end of the study (until the end of the 3rd month). ASI-ımplant group (n = 10) under general anesthesia, titanium implants 2.5 mm in diameter and 4 mm in length were placed in the metaphysical parts of the right tibial bones of the subjects in this group. The subjects were given 3 months weekly oral gavage each week, with ASI of 3.62 g / kg. Until the end of the 3rd month following the surgical placement of the implants, the feeding of all rats continued and the rats were sacrificed at the end of the 3 months. Biochemical analyzes were made from serum samples obtained from rats; alkaline phosphatase (ALP), osteocalcin, calcium (Ca) and phosphorus (P) were analyzed by biochemical methods. Densitometric evaluation was performed on the DEXA (HOLOGİC® QDR 4500C Acclaım Series Elıte S / N: 49458) device using the Version 12.3 package software. Titanium screws were removed with the bone tissue around them and fixed in formaldehyde tissue. Histological evaluations of implant samples were made. Bone–implant connection levels and bone filling rates did not differ statistically from the Control-implant and ASI-implant groups (p> 0.05). Calcium, alkaline phosphatase, osteocalcin and phosphorus levels did not show statistically significant difference compared to Control, ASI, Control-implant and ASI-implant groups (p> 0.05). Within the scope of the study, the levels of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) enzyme did not show statistically significant difference between the control, ASI, Control-implant and ASI-implant groups (p> 0.05). Jaw bone mineral density levels showed statistically significant difference between Control, ASI, Control-implant and ASI-implant groups (χ2 (sd = 3, n = 34) = 8.96, p = 0.03; p < 0.05). Femur bone mineral density values did not show statistically significant difference compared to Control, ASI, Control-implant and ASI-implant groups (p> 0.05). Findings of this study there was no change in serum, calcium, osteocalcin, alkaline phosphatase and phosphorus serum levels in rats fed ASI complex rats, it was also observed that ALT did not change AST enzymes. There was no significant change in bone filling and bone mineral density. Although the jaw has been shown to increase bone mineral density, there has been no change in the femur mineral density.
