Abstract (EN)
The aim of this thesis was to determine antimicrobial effect of the Artrospira platensis (former name Spirulina platensis) belonging to the family of Phormidiaceae which is a member of the cyanobacteria group of the prokaryotic kingdom, after growing in appropriate culture condition and then to produce extract with two different solvent such as methanol and ethanol, against bacterial fish diseases agents. Flavobacterium psychrophila, Lactococcus garviae, Aeromonas hydrophila, Aeromonas salmonicida and Vagococcus salmoninarum, which are isolated from fish farms in different regions, are microbiologically produced. To investigate the antimicrobial effect, Artrospira platensis was produced in suitable medium and ethanol and methanol extractions were obtained after optimization of extraction conditions. Extract solution were applied to the bacteria sepataely after being absorbed into the discs and antimicrobial effects were determined. In this thesis, the antimicrobial effect of Arthrospira platensis, a Cyanobacterium species, against five fish disease agents was determined. The results of this study are important for sustainable aquaculture work, such as alternative nutrition for application and testing of new and environmentally sensitive chemotrapagic sources against diseases.
