Özet (EN)

In "Application of electroforming on the artistic glass works" titled thesis, insulating materials, especially artistic applications of glass, is considered to be covered by the electroforming method. Electroforming; is a method of coating a conductive surface or metalized insulator material in acidic solution by using electric current. In this thesis; in order to metalize glass surface, instead of using liquid copper and other conductive pastes, mixture of graphite powder and varnish has been used. Additionally in this work; electroform of Ornela Crystal glass (Czech Republic), Glasma 705 and Soda -lime - silica glass at various surface with different texture and colors has been applied. The most important advantage of graphite powder in comparison with other conductive paste; is creating different color, texture and desired coating thickness, without using other material or chemical composition. In the first part of the thesis which consists of three chapters; there is general information about definition and history of glass. Primarily, discovery of glass, glass production and technical and artistic development glass process in time was told; then physical and chemical properties of glass and effect of these properties to glass production is described. Second section contains general information on the different coating methods. Beside those coating of insulating material with electroforming method, used equipments in the process and some examples of artistic applications are presented. The third part of the thesis is devoted to personal artistic works. This section contains; properties of used materials during research also testing of different graphite-based pastes and all experiment steps, obtaining optimum current and voltage value for chosen paste. By using the obtained results from the experiments; "From Nature" and "Women- Men" concepts, with personal view, by using electroforming of copper on glass is presented in three-dimensional form.
