Abstract (EN)
Much effort is expended in developing improved physicochemical methods for removing dangerous chemical compositions from the air, soil, and water. This present research describes the production of Cu2SnS3_TiO2 nanotubes (CTS_TNT) nanocomposite films for prospective use as photocatalysts in the heterogeneous photodegradation of Rhodamine B under UVA irradiation and visible light. Cu2SnS3 coated TiO2 nanotubes were effectively produced in a two-step process. First, anodic oxidation was used to grow TiO2 nanotube. After that, Cu2SnS3 layer-shaped nanostructures were relatively filled and coated on the top of tubes via spray pyrolysis method in different coating times 3, 5 and 7 minutes. CTS_TNT were characterized by using FESEM and XRD. The characterization results showed that the crystal structure, morphology, elemental composition and density of Cu2SnS3 nanolayer on the surface of TiO2 nanotubes are affected by Cu2SnS3 coating time. The photodegradation results demonstrated that the photocatalytic activity of CTS_TNT films increased gradually with increasing Cu2SnS3 coating duration. The best performance was achieved in CTS coated sample for 5 minutes. RhB photodegradation efficiency was determined to be 65% for bare TiO2 and 98 % for (CTS_TNT_5 minutes) coated film under a UV source. Also, photocatalytic performance of TiO2 nanotubes was enhanced under visible light irradiation by CTS decoration.
