Âşik Ezgili Kevser's life, poetry and poems

This study has been prepared to highlight the importance of female minstrel who have created works and made their presence felt in minstrel literature and to point out that they are as strong and competent as male asiks in this tradition. The study was conducted within the constitution of Çağ University, Department of Turkish Language and Literature. As prepared master's thesis, the subject of this research is Âşık Ezgili Kevser's life, poetry and poems. This study consists of four parts. In the first part, with the subject, aim, method, scope and limits of the study it gives attention to general overview towards Turkish minstrel tradition and scientific knowledge about the role and place of female minstrel. In the second part, Âşık Ezgili Kevser's life is assessed in terms of minstrel tradition (using fictitious name called mahlas, relationship between the master and the apprentice, playing saz etc.) and statements of Âşık Ezgili Kevser take place as the resource person. In the third part, Âşık Ezgili Kevser's 65 poems have been examined with regard to form, content, language and genre and evaluations have been made. While result and suggestion part takes place in the fourth part, written and oral sources are available in bibliography part. Âşık Ezgili Kevser's 65 poems have been put order alphabetically and these poems have been displayed with AEK code in attachment section. Attachment section also includes photos and newspaper reports about Âşık Ezgili Kevser.
