Abstract (EN)

Yaşar Demir was born in Gümüşhane in 1962. The tenth of March, to be precise. After he graduated from primary school in Sarışeyh Village, he attended elementary and high school in Gümüşhane. He went to Amasya in 1983 in order to do his military service. He took a test for the rank of a noncommissioned officer and achieved the test. Therefore, he visited many places of Turkey during the years in which he worked as a noncommissioned officer. Çorlu was his first duty place. He worked in Bingöl, Ankara, Hakkari, Antalya, Nahçivan and Şanlıurfa respectively. He retired on 16 November 2007. He is now living together with his family in Ankara.The story of his poetic talent started long years ago. He wrote his first poem when he was just 13 years old. After that, he learned to play turkish musical instrument (bağlama). The desire to write poem which first began with a few experiments has gradually been a part of his life.After he improved himself in terms of playing musical instrument, he began to utter poems extemporaneously and engage in a contest of poetic repartee with the effect of several poem festivals that he joined. He attended many television and radio programmes. He also engaged in a contest of poetic repartee with Kul Nuri, Nuri Çırağı, Selahaddin Kazanoğlu, Ali Oltulu, Enver Gürkani, Beyzade Aslan, Nihat Koçak and other important poets in these programmes. The poems of Yaşar Demir are frequently written with syllabic meter of 11. He often uses the art of literature in his poems. He has such a marvelous talent that he can nearly write poems related to all subjects.
