Abstract (EN)
Asthma is a chronic obstructive inflammatory disease of the airways. We aimed to investigate the relationship between asthma and polymorphisms of IL-17F gene 7488T>C (rs763780), IL-17A gene -197G>A (rs2275913) and IL-17A gene -737C>T (rs8193036) in Turkish population. In our study, peripheral blood samples obtained from a total of 127 people, 65 patients and 62 control groups, were used for new polymorphisms of IL-17F gene 7488T>C, IL-17A gene -197G>A and IL-17A gene -737C>T. It was analyzed by next generation sequencing method. There was no statistically significant relationship between IL-17A gene -197G>A and IL-17A gene -737C>T polymorphisms and the risk of developing asthma disease. It was found that individuals with the IL-17F gene 7488T>C polymorphism C allele had a 2.9-fold higher risk of getting sick than individuals with the T allele. ATT and GCT haplotype carriers have been shown to increase disease risk compared to GTT haplotype carriers. As a result, IL-17F gene 7488T> C polymorphism was found to be associated with asthma in the Turkish population. The IL-17 gene should be further investigated in predicting asthma sensitivity and as a potential candidate gene in the treatment of asthma.
