Özet (EN)
To fulfill the needs of the understanding of art in the age of post-modernism that is globalizing by the social and cultural changes and interactions that are experienced in a historical process, our artists of the Turkish painting create their own forms by being a member of different influences, experiments and waves in art. Printmaking enables our internal artists to meet international artists in the same understanding by presenting diversity and increasing the number of ways to explain themselves. The main point that distinguishes printmaking, which has a special place in the art of painting, from usual painting concept is the complexity of the technical process that is to be carried out before and after the creation process. By this aspect, the most engaging part of print making, in which the control on the main substance to be used is more crucial than all other techniques, is that despite it is not less valuable by means of art; it is far cheaper to reproduce as it relies on the main concept of printing on paper from a template. Reaching the receiver directly by this way, printmaking has several subgenres by means of the details of technical method and the diversity of the materials used in the printmaking and this led to a variable influence of print making on art lovers.Used and applied for several purposes and in many cultures, since ancient times, print making?s becoming an art form is fairly new. Thus, the possibilities of printmaking are welcomed by the entire world with longing, because of the interest shown to the requirements of art, ?new and different.?This technique, being practiced in Europe for long years, has just started to make a name in our country. Unlike some artists, preferring to keep away due to the demanding process of application, some other artists totally give up painting and devote themselves to this new branch of art. One of these artists, maybe the most important one, is Atilla Atar. Not only he had great influence in the development of this branch, especially the lithography, by his practices in A.U.G.S.F. (University of Anadolu, Faculty of Fine Arts), but also became an artist that is associated with lithography in whole Turkey, as a result of his efforts to establish and generalize printmaking. This paper studies Atilla Atar?s life, educational steps, institutions he took place, works, his identity as an artist and art instructor and tries to discover his contributions to this art form. Artist?s interaction with society, friends and events is also studied. The creation of artist?s own artistic universe by his interest in painting and nature, combined with his education and development is another subject that is analyzed.Atilla Atar?s technical, formal and contextual integrity, his sensible approach to natural and social events, and his sophistication that is needed for artistic activity was observed to be the key to his success in his own style and Turkish Printmaking .This study aims to underline the pioneer Atilla Atar?s contributions to the art of printmaking, therefore, to the art itself, by describing a special print making genre, lithography, and mentioning Atilla Atar?s life, works and artistic career.
