Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, vegetal wastes (pine and canola) were carbonized by pyrolysis and then these wastes were activated and turned into activated carbon. Fe3O4@AC was obtained from Ferrite (Fe3O4) and activated carbon by using reflux method. CD:Fe3O4@AC inclusion complex was obtained from β-cyclodextrin and Fe3O4@AC particles by using kneading technique. Characterization of these compounds were done by FTIR, TGA, EDX, XRD and SEM analysis. It was tried to gain UV protection, flame retardancy and electromagnetic shielding properties to cotton fabrics coated with Fe3O4@AC compound and CD:Fe3O4@AC complex. As a result of the analyzes (SEM-EDX, FTIR, XRD and TGA), it was confirmed that Fe3O4@AC compound and CD:Fe3O4@AC complexes were successfully synthesized. UV protection, flammability and electromagnetic shielding tests were performed on fabrics coated with Fe3O4@AC compound and CD:Fe3O4@AC complex. As a result of these studies, multifunctional fabrics with excellent UV protection and flame retardancy effect were obtained. However, electromagnetic shielding feature could not be gained to the fabrics coated with both Fe3O4@AC compound and CD:Fe3O4@AC complex.
