Özet (EN)

The aim of this research is to examine the effect of Assertiveness Skills Educational Program on the assertiveness level and self-esteem of second grade students in primary schools. The research group consists of Ayrancılar Primary School second grade students (There are 40 students consisting of 20 students for experiment group and 20 students for control group). Rathus Assertiveness Inventory and Coopersmith Self Esteem Inventory have been used as data collecting tools. The research is an experimental one with preliminary-test and final test control groups. The 40 students determined for the research have been randomly appointed to the experiment and control groups by doing layerly exemplification. With the students chosen for the experiment group, the aims and the rules of the program have been discussed individually and later in the group meeting the aims and the rules of the program have been repeated. Assertiveness Skills Educational Program has been aplied to the experiment group as 12 sessions. The sessions have been aplied once a week; the first 11 sessions for 90 minutes and the 12 th sessions for 45 minutes. The data obtained from the two groups? preliminary and final tests have been analysed with ?t? test and variance analysis (F) techniques. At the end of the research, it has been understood that Assertiveness Skills Educational Program is not effective method in developing the assertiveness levels and self-esteem of second grade students in primary schools.
