Özet (EN)

Financial behavior may be a determinant on managing cash and loans about expenditure, saving, borrowing and investment decisions of people face to financial events while consuming. An aspect of financial behavior, card payment systems, which are designed because of new payment tool necessity in order to meet the limitless consumer needs, are important due to the contributions made either in consumer or national economy by creating a resource on consumer purchase finance, added value to national economy, a bright future and better life standards. In conclusion of the study, it has been thought that providing resource to the other studies on financial behavior and payment culture for card payment systems as being important both in personal and sectoral bases. In this study, it has been intended to determine the shopping mall customers' financial behaviors on the process, development, ownership, areas of usage, preferences, aims, expectations, consciousness, opinions and attitudes of card payment systems and search for the relationship between those and demographic and socio-economic factors. With this aim, a public survey has been made to 420 customers who make shopping in Elazığ and Malatya region. While analyzing the surveys, Chi square test, independent t test, associated t test and Anova (Analysis of Variance) have been used. As a result, there is a significant relationship between the variables and card payment systems are commonly preferred with respect to open account system although it has been thought riskier.
