The aims of this study are to identify and evaluate how the right to education has been interpreted by the ECtHR, in this context, which values and principles have been used in that interpretation, whether such values and principles are appropriate or not to produce fair solutions to the problems encountered in the field of education and finally to make recommendations relating to the said problematic areas. In this sense, firstly the ECtHR judgments relating to the right to education have been reviewed and the general principles revealed from these judgments have been included in main titles. In the subheadings, how the said principles have been reflected to the specific issues. Meanwhile, the opposite arguments in the relevant literature relating to the ECtHR approach have also been included and evaluated when necessary. Finally, the problems revealed from the ECtHR approach relating to the right to education have been evaluated and some recommendations have been made to solve the problems.
