The rising anti-Islamism in Germany within the context of Europe's other

In the process from old times to the presents, Islamophobia has been a constant phenomenon in Europeans. The struggles of the Christian World with the Islamic World and the desire of the Western World to gather itself under a single identity have provided the reinforcement of Islamophobic thoughts constantly. The most important case in term of consructing an idantity is the creation of an enem, that is an ''other''. Moving from this direction, the common enemy, that is necessary for the creation of the European identity, was determined by the Western World as Islam and Muslims. In this context, Muslim societies were based as ''others'' for Eurıpeans; they were engraved in the minds of people with different characters, bliefs and cultures. As a result of this situation, Muslim societies were exposed to cultural racism in the European countries. Anti-Islamism, which has been present in the minds of Germans as well as in other European societies for centuries, has become more widespread and concrete after immigration from Muslim countries and the attacks of radical jihadist terrorist organizations. Especially the terrorist attacks, that took place in the USA on September 11, have been a very important turning point in this regard. After these attacks, anti-Islamism started to show itself in almost every field in Germany as in the whole of Europe, and even it led to the increasing of violent racist movements against Muslims. In addition to this situation, the image of ''bad'' Islam and Muslims, drawn by Western Civilization, is constatnly ingrained in the minds of Europeans with the influence of the media in the globalizing World. This situation leads to an increasing of Islamophobic thoughts among people even more. In this way, anti-Islamism constantly kept up to date in German societies as well as in European societies and is constantly inflamed.
