Abstract (EN)
The source of naturally occurring radon on Earth is uranium. The presence of radon concentrations in varying amounts in all types of soils, water, atmosphere and indoor air depends on many parameters. Determining the relationship between these parameters and radon concentrations will be useful for reduce radon exposure. In this study, the relationship between the radon concentrations with the soil structure and environmental parameters were determined in the Koçarlı region and around, Aydın. In the field, twenty eight stations in soil gas radon concentrations and indoor environments were constituted. These radon measurements were periodically taken for one year. The soil gas radon measurements were carried out by using LR-115 Type II nuclear track detectors. Water samples were collected periodically to determine the effect of radon concentrations on regional waters. In addition, the NaI(Tl) Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy System was used to determine uranium, thorium and potassium levels in the soil samples from the region. According to the results of the LR-115 film detector, the radon concentrations were found to vary from 0,80 kBq / m3 to 62,43 kBq / m3 in the soil and between 26,32 Bq / m3 and 526,4 Bq / m3 in indoor conditions. Radon concentrations measurements were made with a continuous radon measuring device in indoor areas where the radon concentrations were high. Instant radon measurements and daily measurements were evaluated. Temperature, humidity and ambient pressure values were also measured. The relationship between the soil gas radon concentrations of the zone and soil properties was investigated. The association of these results with each other was evaluated statistically.
