Determination of field performance of peanut harvesting and threshing machines in Aydın province

Objective: The aim of this research is to determine the field performance of the peanut harvesting and threshing machines produced in Cine district of Aydin. Material and Methods: The research was carried out with the samples taken from the determined fields of the peanut produced in October 2021 and the measurements made during the working process of the machines. Moisture content, geometric, gravimetric, and mechanical properties of the peanut were determined under laboratory conditions. During the peanut harvesting and threshing processes, forward speed, the effective field capacity, and losses of the machines were determined. Results: The research was carried out in different fields and with different types of machinery. Harvesting and threshing parameters of these machines were determined. Field yield was found 486,72 kg/da for Field 1, 579,93 kg/da for Field 2 and the total loss in harvesting machines was determined as 21.92% for Field 1 and 21,00% for Field 2. Threshing machine losses were determined as 5.85% for Field 1 and 5.80% for Field 2. The effective field capacity of the machines at harvesting was 3.31 da/h for Field 1 and 4,35 da/h for Field 2. In the threshing process, the value was 2,43 da/h for Field 1 and 2,21 da/h for Field 2. As a result, adjustment of peanut harvesting and threshing machines, replacement of worn parts, use of machines by trained people will have an effect on reducing losses. The desired yield and quality will be achieved.
